I updated the version of Photostack. This meant a lot of reorganization and fixing of stuff. Luckily photostack is well done and makes it easy to put my sloppy code into. Feel free to see the new stuff by clicking on the Current Photos link to the right. (or if you’re not reading this from my Gonzonia, go there now.) I still don’t trust the age calculations though. When I use it to calculate the difference between April 30, 2005 and June 8, 2005 it says 1 month and 15 hours….so I need to research that a bit.

Update: Fixed the calculation. There was a flag to display days that was turned off.

So, I’ve been without internet at home since Friday night when our cable modem decided to stop working (I’m guessing it’s something outside the house though.) I feel very out of touch. I also find myself wanting to lok things up all the time and I can’t. It’s very annoying.

Well, it’s finally time. In the next couple of weeks I plan on scrapping the old K62 450 that’s been acting as my router and building a new router. The question is…what OS? Currently I’m using FreeBSD, and while I’m very happy with the performance, I’d wouldn’t mind something a little easier to use. Does anyone know of any good tutorials on setting up Redhat or Ubuntu or some other flavor as a NAT enabled router?

Now before you go asking…”Why not just buy a Linksys router or something?” I’ll tell you.
There are 2 reasons.
#1 - Last time I checked there’s a limit to how many port forwarding rules and stuff that you can set up. My current router is already using more than those allow for.

#2 - By using this type of system I actually learn something in the process.

I have an old document a friend did for setting up FreeBSD 4 (which I’ll have to hack through for the current version).

I can now post simultaneously to Myspace, Livejournal, and GONZONIA.COM.

Anyone else ever had their domain spoofed by spammers? How long did it last? How did you handle it?

You may have noticed some minor changes to the site (The main Gonzonia site if you’re reading this on LiveJournal). Like all those Fatherhood links over there on the right. Thanks to Rebeldad for the easily imported list.

I’ve also added the ability to subscribe to comments. I know most of you (that means 2 out of the 3 people that actually read this) don’t even leave comments, but if you do you can get an email when someone replies to it. Neat huh?

I’ve also added a “links” page. If you click on “Links” on the right you’ll get the full links listing complete with descriptions. I’m working on getting all the descriptions in there.

One of the things I want to do is get all the links aggregated into a “friends” page like livejournal. I’ve got a Wordpress plugin that places it on the admin page, but I really want something that will generate a separate page. Anyone know of anything?

I was reading Midnight Culmination today and Rachel* was a little upset by her lack of inclusion in the St. Peteersburg Times list of local blogs. Now, since I think here blog is a much more popular, and definitely a much more updated blog than mine, I was suprised…no..shocked, to see Gonzonia included among the list.

You may notice some slight changes to the site. I’ve moved from Moveable Type to WordPress…and…WELCOME LIVEJOURNAL FRIENDS!

I’ve finally got this thing set so I can post in one spot and it updates both places. That means I post to Gonzonia and my Livejournal gets updated as well.

This will make things much easier for me…and I won’t have to tell my friends there’s porn on my site to get them to read it.

Edit: Although it appears I have to post via the web interface, and it won’t update for edits….but it’s a start. Need to see if I can get LivePress working..

Edit again: Okay, I think I got LivePress working…at least partially…

So, there you are wondering what happened to me?
Nothing…yet. I’ve been restricting my nonsensical posts of random crap I find around the interweb to my LJ site. Why? Cause more of my friends read that. They’re all a bunch of lazy slackers who can’t be bothered to click beyond their frieds page….unless there’s porn.

I’m thinking that might change…but probably not.
