Found a nunchuck. I now have two full controller sets.

11:00 am - Wow, I’ve got a problem.

I feel very out of touch. I also find myself wanting to lok things up all the time and I can’t. It’s very annoying.
Well, it’s finally time. In the next couple of weeks I plan on scrapping the old K62 450 that’s been acting as my router and building a new router. The question is…what OS? Currently I’m using FreeBSD, and while I’m very happy with the performance, I’d wouldn’t mind something a little easier to use. Does anyone know of any good tutorials on setting up Redhat or Ubuntu or some other flavor as a NAT enabled router?
Now before you go asking…”Why not just buy a Linksys router or something?” I’ll tell you.
There are 2 reasons.
#1 - Last time I checked there’s a limit to how many port forwarding rules and stuff that you can set up. My current router is already using more than those allow for.
#2 - By using this type of system I actually learn something in the process.
I have an old document a friend did for setting up FreeBSD 4 (which I’ll have to hack through for the current version).
All I’m asking is 1 week when everyone in my family is healthy. No runny nose. No antibiotics. No ear infection. Please? PLEASE?!
So, this afternoon I decided to reboot my router (a FreeBSD) machine. And it decided not to come back up…sorta. It actually decided that it didn’t like the network card on the external interface, or at least didn’t like using it beyond getting an IP address. So, I tried another…and another…and another…and finally found one that was just right….
But none of my machines were able to get out to the net…so after about another hours frustration I noticed that there was some error scrolling by….turns out in my troubleshooting I made a little typo…cleared that up and here I am.
Time for bed.
Wow, I’m completely baffled. I update once every few weeks with mostly pointless crap and I really don’t have a particularly interesting writing style, yet….
Somehow I’ve made St. Pete Times blog list and now the TBO.com “BlogWatch”
So where were you all when I was promoting Kitefliers?
I was finally able to look up the actual ordinance about noise…stupid old bat should be aware of the law before she threatens someone with it.
Sec. 19-58. Excessive noise declared a public nuisance.
(b) Noise limitations. We bought a hot water heater in January. The factory setting is supposed to be 120 degrees. The plumber isn’t allowed to set it higher because anything higher could scald a baby. Well, we had to turn it up to 120 degrees since it wasn’t actually even that high. Everything was great. For about the last month, when I take a shower in the morning I keep having to nudge the water temp up until it’s all the way up and all that’s coming out is warm water. It wasn’t like this when it got installed. So, when I called the srevice people and they tell me to turn up the temp on the heater since we’re in the colder months I about flipped. Colder months? I live in Florida. A month and a half ago it was still 85 degrees out and I think the water temp in the gulf was pretty high, at least Wilma seemed to think so.
A tech is scheduled to come out, but if he says there is nothing wrong and the temp just needs to be turned up it’s going to cost me $60.
Why can’t I just accet things like this? why does it get me so damn angry?
