Fifty-nine Deceits in Fahrenheit 9/11
I consider myself very liberal, although I find myself leaning libertarian occasionally. I enjoyed Fahrenheit 9/11 and think everyone should see it regardless of how you feel about Bush or Moore. Is the movie the absolute truth? Probably not. Is the Bush administration’s rhetoric the truth. I doubt it. Is this article the truth? Most likely not. The truth lies somewhere in between. As an intelligent individual you must read multiple sources and come to a conclusion on your own. No matter what you read, it will be biased and spun to further the agenda of the author. Often I don’t think this is intentional, but in the case of the above it most certainly is.
I present this article merely because I’ve seen to many detractors of Moore simply call the film a lie without having seen it. This article quotes the film and points out what it calls “deceits.” They’re really just spin and clever film making. It’s no different than Bush claiming Kerry supports a higher gas tax because he supported it 10 years ago (not exact, but I’m too lazy to look up the details).
Now before you start flaming me with comments, I am not seeking to debate, and I won’t debate. I just wanted to share something I found interesting.
