So, one of my biggest peeves with iTunes was the inability to hide the main window. When I saw the COM interface SDK get released, I decided to do something about it. This is a little app (EARLY STAGES) that allows very basic control of iTunes and shows it up in the title bar (locks to top of screen, can be moved left to right). It’ll display the current track and will default to hiding iTunes main window (won’t hide systray icon if it’s there).
Right click on the window to see the menu. Play button also pauses.
Playlist can be selected by right clicking. It opens iTunes when it opens, so if iTunes is slow to open, it will be too. Exiting closes iTunes.

Excellent stuff. I can’t wait to see it evolve. I’ve been lamenting the fact that you couldn’t hide iTunes. Yay!
Perhaps an album popout menu as well? (Similar to the playlist feature). And maybe even a toolbar that works in a similar manner to WMP?
Not asking for much am I!?!
Top work!

Problem with doing albums, is that it for large collections, it can be an EXTEMELY long list.
What were you referring to for the toolbar? I don’t use WMP.

Cool! Can you add a config to turn off scrolling after X seconds? That way the ticker is not distracting. Better if you release it as open source, I can help.”
