I’m please to announce that Jobsite Theater recieved the following Weekly Planet’s Best of The Bay awards in the Theater category:
Best Play - Cloud 9

Best Director - Ami Sallee Corley

Best Set Designer - Dickie Corley

Best Costume Designer - Katrina Stevenson

Those are some fine people, and I am privledged to work with them.

Katrina is directing the production of Bloody Poetry which I’m stage managing.

‘tis talk like a pirate day and all you scurvy dogs better be get out of the way….

Okay, that’s done. Rehearsals are going well. Mostly blocking right now. Wednesday we got a bit more accomplished on writing our next piece than we thought we would, so that’s good. Right now I feel ill. Scratchy throat, that whole bit. Lucky me. Enjoy your weekends.

It’s distressing to me for some reason that Johnny Cash is dead. Perhaps it’s because I discovered him rather late in my musical experience and can’t get enough. The world is a darker place without Johnny Cash.

Success is measured by how much more you’ve accomplished than the people you went to high school/college with.

I’m going to have way too much fun with the “Bloody” titles…

Tonights a “research meeting” for the show at my place. Everyone sits around, watches movie clips, and does “research”.

It’ll give me an opportunity to get some organization going though…create a contact list stuff like that.

Look, just because I live in Tampa it doesn’t mean..
I’m a Bucs fan or that I give a stinky rat’s ass in hell about football. Heck, I suck at sports. As a result I don’t watch them. So leave me alone. I don’t want to talk about the game.

Okay, the title has absolutely nothing to do with the post. I just thought I’d say, that I’m on friendster looking for old friend and acquaintances. I connected with someone I went to Bard College with, someone I grew up with, and my brother. That’s it. I’m hoping through these networks, I’ll actually find the people I’m looking for. We’ll see…I need to drop a message to the friend from Bard and see if she’s kept in touch with anyone….

Warning: USE I.E. Friendster is slow as hell in Mozilla for some reason.

Well folks, looks like I’m taking a dive into the proverbial deep end. I’ll be stage managing Jobsite Theater’s production of Bloody Poetry by Howard Brenton. This will be interesting. I’ve no experience stage managing. In fact, the closest I’ve come is running the sound board for one of the productions.

I’m hoping that this will be the learning experience I want and that I’ll come away from it with a a better idea of what is necessary to direct. Since, what I really want to do is direct.
