I got the new iBook yesterday. The interesting thing about this is that yesterday afternoon Apple didn’t show it being sent yet when I called them. Oh well…there are some interesting differences. The first thing I noticed when I opened it was that the area around the trackpad is now white. Not the smooth shiny white of the outer casign, but more of a dull textured white plastic. Also, the AC adapter is now a grounded plug. Well, it can be. If you use the extension cord there’s now a grounded plug on the end. It appears they achieved this by making the small circular tab that the plug slides over and connects to, metal. Inside the groove that slides over this is also metal. The extension cord is now round, much like Belkin network cable.
Other than that I haven’t noticed anything interesting yet. I’m just glad to have it back.
