So I was working in the yard today and came across these wonderful creatures. The first is a Spinybacked Orbweaver…
The other is some big locust thing…

I finally found the picture I needed to identify my spinybacked orbweaver, or Gasteracantha Cancrisformis. I recently caught this spider in Buffalo, Texas. It looks so dangerous, “I thought”, but wanted to find out more. I’m trying not to be afraid of things I do not yet understand. Would you please offer a good web-site or provide additional info on this spinybacked orbweaver. I will now return it to the wild in my big backyard without worry for my safety and others.
Thanks in advance.
Kind regards,
Dawn Hebert

I was searching also about the spinybacked orbweaver.I found out that it is harmless to humans and other large creatures.
It is a kind of garden spider.A good website to go to is www.dogpile.com.I found a lot of information on this website, and if you find other weird creatures this is a good wegsite to go on to.That is how I found out about you.I hpoe you take this advice and use it.The spider will not harm your children. It will only become a pain.Since you have a large yard you may not have to worry about this. You can find this info and other on the website I provided for you to use.Good luck on finding the info.Your welcome.
