I picked up the iBook. While I was there I asked if the 1st year limited warranty would transfer if I sold the machine. They said yes. This is a good thing, as it creates an additional selling point.
I must say though, I’m a little nervous about selling what is obviously a machine with problems. There are a couple of reasons I’m nervous about this.
#1- Liability. I know there may be a problem and therefore probably should disclose it.
#2- My ebay experiences lately have been less than stellar and I’m somewhat afraid of selling on there.
#3- I might not get as much as I’d like.
Anyone who’s in an area where they can get applecare want to buy an iBook?

dude… all you need for extended AppleCare is a tax ID. I’m in Florida also, and its easy to get and worth it so you can buy your Apple gear as a “business”. I just extended mine, and the ID is all they needed to sell it to me.
good luck with it.
