After a couple of days of having what amounted to no internet connection while at work, I’m back. Unfortunately I can’t recall the various rants and complaints I’ve had over the last few days.

Oh wait, that’s one…the iBook.

The iBook is a wonderful tool/toy. I love my iBook. What I don’t love is the lack of quality I’m starting to observe in it’s manufacture. When I bought the iBook, it came recommended by two people I trust. Since I got it in August, I’ve had to send it in for a new mainboard due to a display issue, replace the AC adapter (damaged during the repair), and replace the battery. Now after updating the OS I got a faint popping noise from my speakers. Luckily I found some people discussing this in the apple discussion boards and found a temporary work around. I need to keep the Sound preferences open. That causes it to go away. That’s just stupid. The sound is inaudible in a room with other noise, but if I’m home working in the bedroom and the TV isn’t on….pop..pop…pop…It’s like having a bowl of rice krispies next to me.
