February 2003

I haven’t looked at the real Ready.gov site yet, but this parody site from Idle Words is great. Thanks to Pop Culture Junk Mail for the link.

I also find this story from the Washington Post pretty interesting. It’s pretty amazing what you can get for a small political investment of $100,000. Personally, I go for about the same if anyone wants to buy some advertising. I can talk your product up at parties…scream it from my window…ya know, get the word out.

So, I forgot to mention the I got a lead on a job. Co-worker from my last job just started somewhere he thinks could use someone. And it’s in Tampa…no more driving to Palm Harbor! Woo Woo…
keeping my fingers crossed….seminole heights to westshore would be much better.

This is good news. I’ve been using Safari since it came out. I”ve been reasonably happy with it. Especially since Mozilla all of a sudden started to not like almost every site I went to. I think this is something on my system and I haven’t taken the time to fix it. However, the one thing I miss is tabbed browsing. I tried Chimera and was having the same issues as Mozilla. So, I’m really looking forward to getting my tabs back.

What a day…This morning started out with my having almost nothing to work on. Then a client calls and I’ve got corrupted data to contend with as well as some spot “enhancements.” Than I’ve got other people too lazy to track things down coming at me, and changes to something I thought was done (basically a re-write of an entire section). Oh and did I mention I have no clue as to what it’s actually supposed to do? I don’t have a clue about this data. Ther there’s the boss telling me to try my monitor over where I was again since he looked in the ceiling and separated some wires (that were disconnected from my machine and definitely not the cause of the problem).

Okay, I know, it doesn’t sound like much but it’s frustrating none the less. I’ve been spoiled and I’ve gotten used to the calm…Talk to ya Monday.

Everyone who knows me also knows that I’ve been lusting after the iPods ever since I got my iBook. Well, according to Think Secret there’s a possibility that the line will be updated in the near future. This is good, since I’ve got enough right now to fill a 10GB iPod and would like to move my whole CD collection to MP3. A 40GB iPod might be just what the geek doctor ordered. So, if you’re interested in buying me a nice gift just cause you’re a generous person, let me know. I’ll be happy to help you indulge your generous nature.

Okay, so that’s a misleading title. Who cares. I just thought I’d point you over to a blog that I read occasionally. Regardless, they’re local Tampons (that means they live in Tampa). Check out Ain’t too proud to blog.

Thanks to them I came across Picture Yourself. I need to make sure I pass that one on to Shawn and Eric. Although who knows what picture may end up on there of them. Eric’s a Tampon too.

This is a fun site and I thought I’d share.
The Phobia List is essentiall a large list of phobias. How did I find it you ask? Well, I have Ponophobia and was trying to keep that from happening. Personally I think most people have Zeusophobia, unless you happen to be Athena.

Update: The interview link below is dead. Sorry. I can’t find a copy anywhere….

See, here’s the type of thing I can post. I just came across this Avril Lavigne interview.
What’s the deal with this girl? I mean, I’ll admit it..I like pop-punk. Sadly, yes it’s true. I like the music put out by this girl, but she’s I think she has got to be a marketing creation. Considering the type of music she creates, it’s hard to understand how she could mispronounce David Bowie’s name when announcing the Grammy nominations. Based on this interview she seems very ditzy. Don’t get me wrong, I’ll still listen to the music (whenever I happen to hear it) but as far as respect goes, she just went down a notch.

Oh..the one other good thing to come out of her popularity. The Donnas are making money. While I wasn’t exposed to the Donnas until fairly recently, I went out and hunted down whatever I could from these women. They kick Avril’s ass.

I’ve decided I don’t put enough of my thoughts down here and want to increase. To aid in doing this I’ve gone ahead and installed w.bloggar at work. This will allow me to pop up a little application window and enter in my thoughts, rants, frustrations, etc..

One of the other things I’d like to start doing more of as well is taking pictures. I bought this digital camera and barely use it. I need to let the world know what I see. Why? Cause I’m arrogant and think people may actually be interested in my views.

Until later then…

They actually let me move. So now I’m in another office (same building) until an electrician can come and hopefully add some shielding or something so I don’t get horrible migraines from looking at the vibrating screen.
