For the last two years we’ve had a house where kids have come trick or treating. What amazes me is how many people (not just kids) come knocking at the door without a costume. Some are kind enough to at least pretend and actually say, “Trick or Treat” but as a whole they usualyl just knock and open their bag when you open the door. Those who actually took the time to put some sort of a costume on mostly just put some white and black makeup on. A couple were actually trying to do Insane Clown Posse or the Crow, but in general it was just to have something as a costume. There were a couple of okay costumes, but in general not much. What happened to mom making a costume? Granted my costumes weren’t that great, but I thought they rocked.
One year I was R2-D2. Mom took a clothes basket and some poster board a lot of glitter and made me an incredibly dangerous costume. I couldn’t see my feet and kept tripping over things.
Do I have a point? No. I just thought it was sad how many people don’t even wear costumes.

bah, this is because people (in the US at least) are lazy bastards.

of course, on another side of the spectrum are some fine you folks who went to a Swarthmore College hallowen party dressed as the following:
1. white kid in black face.
2. two white kids dressed as lazy mexicans.
3. one jewish lad dressed as a terrorist.
needless to say (according to some school wide emails I have heard about), the campus PC police jumped all over of this. number 2 is rather unacceptable, but still funny. number 1 could be bad, depending on motive. number 3 is probably justified (that whole freedom of speech thing) regardless of what side you are on in this whole terrorist bit.
