October 2002

For the last two years we’ve had a house where kids have come trick or treating. What amazes me is how many people (not just kids) come knocking at the door without a costume. Some are kind enough to at least pretend and actually say, “Trick or Treat” but as a whole they usualyl just knock and open their bag when you open the door. Those who actually took the time to put some sort of a costume on mostly just put some white and black makeup on. A couple were actually trying to do Insane Clown Posse or the Crow, but in general it was just to have something as a costume. There were a couple of okay costumes, but in general not much. What happened to mom making a costume? Granted my costumes weren’t that great, but I thought they rocked.

One year I was R2-D2. Mom took a clothes basket and some poster board a lot of glitter and made me an incredibly dangerous costume. I couldn’t see my feet and kept tripping over things.

Do I have a point? No. I just thought it was sad how many people don’t even wear costumes.

Yeah yeah yeah. Somethings different. I was bored at work and decided I wanted to tweak the site a little. Fonts are bigger. Added some title bars, brought some more attention to the fresh links….Small things.
Thanks to Shawn for his help.

I haven’t read it yet, but I want to give credit to a guy who self-publishes a book and also makes it available free online. His name is John L. Sheppard. He has a few books all of which are published via iUniverse and available online.

I’m most curious about Small Town Punk. It’s about growing up punk, poor, and in Sarasota, FL. I’m unsure if it’s good or bad, but I wasn’t all that punk (but I wanted to be), I wasn’t poor(luckily), and I didn’t grow up in Florida(even luckier). But damn I want to read this. Ink19 was kind enough to review it for us. So go buy the damn book and then sit and read it! Support people like this!

The following is a list of people I’d prefer to never see again:

Laura Smallwood(-Irish)
Liam Irish
Anna Hatton
Michael Chad Taylor

That’s funny I thought there were more…
I’ll update if I think of more.

We signed the contract. We close on our house on Dec. 10th. We didn’t get the other house. We put in a low offer and they didn’t accept. In fact they have another offer that’s higher. Now we keep looking. Unfortunately our agent goes out of town for 10 days starting Wednesday so we’ll have to find something quickly afterward.

We got an offer on the house. Essentially after all is said and done, it’s $400 below what we’re listing it at. Now I’m sure you’re saying to yourself, “Wow, that’s great oh magnificent one!” and perhaps you’re right but I feel greedy. Our realtor basically told us that we could have 3 offers by Monday. Well, one of them couldn’t wait that long when he found out and put his offer in right away. Who’s to say the other offers won’t be better? Maybe we listed it too low. I almost wish we’d done it by owner than we’d have made quite a profit!

The scary part is…WE DON’T HAVE A HOUSE PICKED OUT! We have one that I thihnk we could live with although it’s smaller than I’d like. My wife loves it though. It also needs some minor work (new carpet and paint, stuff like that) but it has a great yard, and is in a great neighborhood. But it’s small…

We’re going to look at it again tomorrow. Than we’ll decide.

We’ve had at least one showing on the house each day since it went on the market. We’re expecting a rather busy day tomorrow. The MLS if you’re interested is 1500364. Today the realtor called and said the guy who looked yesterday is buying it with his brother. The brother will be in town Monday, but it sounds like the other realtor is drawing up a contract this weekend. Concievably we’ll have an offer on the house by Monday. All I have to say is, that kicks ass!

Our house officially goes on the market today. As soon as I have an MLS # or a link I’ll post it here. If you’re interested in moving to beautiful Clearwater , FL than this 3 bedroom 2 bath home is just right! Only 10 minutes to the beach!
Enough sales.
